Excitement has been building up for weeks and last Sunday our U13 girls eagerly kicked off their very 1st camogie Championship.

Our Division 4 girls welcomed Westmanstown to Ridgewood for the 1st round of the Championship cup. Finians came onto the pitch raring to go and got off to a very strong start scoring 2 goals early on, they worked extremely well together as a team showing excellent blocks and passing and were rewarded as the points and goals flowed sending the girls into half time with a strong lead. A tough Westmanstown side put our girls through their paces in the second half but Finians continued to battle up and down the pitch extending their lead with some fantastic scores and came away with a well deserved win.

The girls look forward to their 1st football championship match this Sunday against Clanna Gaels.

The u13 Div 9 camogie team welcomed St Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh to Ridgewood on Sunday morning for their first ever championship match.

The girls started strongly and the hard work the team put in over the summer in training showed as they got an early goal. The first half was a tight affair with hitting the crossbar twice with two excellent long range attempts. However, Finians went into half time with the lead.
The second half was end to end with some amazing scores and equally amazing saves.  The St Finians’s girls showed great teamwork, batting and skill to end the match with a win.
The smile on the girls faces was great to see as the whistle blew and they should be very proud of their performance. They and the coaches are looking forward to the next game away to Ballyboden in two weeks time

Thanks to all the parents and coaches James, Kevin and Alan for their support and help in making it a great day

A massive thank you to Andy Fitzsimons who took some amazing action shots of the girls
