U16s lgfa started their championship with a home game vs their name sake st finians Newcastle. Unfortunately the referee didn’t turn up so St Finians swords manager Keith Cahill had to ref the match with the acceptance of St Finians Newcastle.
St Finians Swords started the game very strong and scored some lovely point but Newcastle stayed involved and popped over some lovely points in a very entertaining game. Half time came with swords up but Newcastle still involved.
The second half started with an exchange of points on both sides. The hot weather and strength of swords bench saw them pull away for a first championship win of 2023.
Huge thanks to the u15s and u14s for the support today.
Roll on Ballyboden B in 2 weeks. Well done to all the players today.
