It was a busy hurling championship Sunday for the adult hurlers in glorious weather conditions. In the morning, the 1st team entertained Naomh Fionbarra @ Ridgewood. With full back David Hattie out injured, a defensive re-shuffle was necessary that saw Peter Wright move to full back & Vinny Foley come in at wing back with both performing very well. Naomh Fionbarra started the better shooting the first 2 points but Finians settled courtesy to an Adam O'Shaughnessy goal and with Dave Kelleher strong at centre back, young forwards from the minor team Sean Cronin & Senan Crosbie were getting plenty of ball and causing problems with their pace & skill. Naomh Fionbarra had a penalty shot come off the post and when Senan Crosbie goaled @ the opposite end the momentum swung very much St Finians way with the score at the half time whistle 2-14 to 0-4.

Naomh Fionbarra came looking for goals and might have got them from close range frees were it not for 2 saves by Mikey Gormally. Jack Murray & Sean Cronin found the net for Finians to seal victory & secure a quarter final place

The 2nd team made the long journey to Glencullen to play Stars of Erin. The match was notable for the return of Eoin Murray to hurling action @ corner back & Niall O'Connor making his Finians debut @ corner forward. Evan Murray and James Elder were prominent at wing back & midfield and whilst Finians scored 14points and were in hard luck not to get a few goals, the ability of Stars of Erin to strike for goals at the other end saw them run out winners in what was a competitive championship encounter
