Our U16 hurlers got their B Championship off to a great start in Ridgewood on Saturday against a strong Whitehall Colmcille squad.

The lads were a little rusty in the first half in their first competitive game since early June with their shooting especially letting them down in the first half. Whitehall led by 0.6 to 1.1 after St Finians let a number of scoring chances pass them by,

The lads re-grouped over half time and came out firing in the second half, dominating the game but still struggling to put scores on the board. We eventually broke through for a goal and tacked on a few points to ease into a 6 point lead before Whitehall turned up the pressure in injury time. 

The St Finians defense closed out the game strongly and came away with a much deserved win.

Final score : St Finians 2.9  Whitehall Colmcilles 0.11
