Under 14 Girls Football Update
On a beautiful first Sunday of September, both under 14 teams started their football championship campaigns.
The D1 team continued the good start to the championship with an away win against Kilmacud Crokes in football to follow up last Sundayβs camogie victory. ππ
Some truly outstanding performances in all areas of the pitch coupled with
accurate shooting saw us safely to victory on a beautiful sunny day all round in Silver Park.
Meanwhile, over at the Iveagh Grounds, the Division 8 team had a tough start with a match away to St James Gaels. Being drawn in the Group of Death, there was some extra pressure to get a result. The game started well for Finians with them holding a narrow lead at the first water break. St James Gaels came back into it and built a lead through the 2nd and 3rd Quarters.
The girls had a great pep talk at the final water break and roared back into the game. They put the Gaels to the pin of their collar, but unfortunately just came up short on this occasion. π
But, overall a very positive day for the team, as there were 39 girls playing across both teams / locations. πͺπͺ
