Well it was a cold morning for sure, up on Ridgewood Pitches this morning for the U8 Boys home Hurling match against St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh. But the boys got stuck and did their best which is all the Mentors ask of them. With the pitch being so soft, it was air hurling all the way. It was just too cold to do the first half of each match as the slower ground hurling. The boys needed to keep moving. Plenty of jogging on the spot for the goalies to keep warm. But as David said, they played their best, and did not let the cold air hamper their high standards. They still got super blocks in and used their bodies to make space so they could get the sliotar up in the air. There was even a few hand passes despite the freezing fingers 👏 The boys were just superb to shake off the injuries and knocks they got and to keep playing 👏👏
Very proud of them pulling it out of the bag this morning. Well done boys. You were just brilliant 💪
Thank you to the parents for your help setting up this morning and for the continued sideline support. And thank you to the 3 referees this morning.
See you all Tuesday for hurling training. A special hurling guest will be helping with the training this coming Tuesday so make sure to be nice and early folks.
