Our U13 girls played a gallant St. Brigid's team on Sunday afternoon at Starlights. The first half was played in atrocious conditions for both teams with Finians playing into the gale force wind. Remarkably, through brilliant defending, excellent team work and finishing Finians were 2-2 to 1-3 up at half time. After a dogged 10 minutes at the start of the 2nd half, the Finians girls stretched clear. Stout goalkeeping and defending was coupled with slick midfield play and excellent forward play and Finians held Brigid's scoreless in the second whilst adding 4-3 themselves. The coaching team were very proud.
