Thomas Ashe U16s travelled to St Patrick's Palmerstown on Saturday afternoon for their football shield quarter final.
In perfect playing conditions the lads got off to a great start scoring 2 quick goals which helped settle the nerves for all involved. Pats replied with 3 points but the lads finished the half strongly with another goal and point.
We were forced into a number of changes at halftime due to injuries picked up in the first half, this handed Pats some initiative and they began to eat into our lead. However the lads sorted themselves out and took back control of the game with a combination of tough tackling and excellent game management. Another goal ended Pats resistance and the lads ran out deserved winners and are looking forward to a semi final in a couple of weeks. 💪
Thanks to all the parents for coming out to support us, much appreciated 👏
