The 1st team hosted Na Fianna in Ridgewood at noon. Minus 8 panelists for various reasons, the team had to be reshuffled with minor player  Brian McClade making his first start at this level at corner back and Matthew Deegan likewise @ corner forward with both players acquitting themselves well. St Finians first score came from a Nathan Foster pointed free after Lee Kavanagh was fouled following a good run. Dara Power after a 40 yard run then finished deftly to the net at a stage when he looked like he was  goosed after his run and about to be hooked. Nathan Foster was putting over good points  from play & frees. At the other end Peter Wright & Mattie Murray  were strong at full back and centre back but Na Fianna did get in for 2 goals leaving the half time score 1-9 to 2-3 in favour of Finians. Lee Kavanagh with an excellent point got the 1st score of the 2nd half for Finians after Na Fianna opening the scoring with a point. The crucial score came mid way through the the 2nd  half when Dara Power put Mikey Gormally through on goal with Mikey finishing well to the net.

This put St Finians in a commanding  position but Na Fianna were reducing the deficit picking off good points. James Elder lifted the siege for St Finians with a late point to secure a 2-16 to 2-13 victory for St Finians. 2 wins from 2 matches in the league for St Finians .

🌟The 2nd team were hoping to do likewise in the afternoon away to Naomh Barrog. Jack Dempsey impressed on his adult hurling debut at wing back with his 1st team football team mates Conor Collier and Dylan Gray giving Finians a good foothold at midfield. Minor player Donie Redmond was tormenting the Barrog backs getting good points from play and frees. At half time St Finians led 0-8 to 0-6. A lob shot from Dylan Gray led to a goal for St Finians early in the 2nd half but Naomh Barrog struck 2 goals and injuries impacted Finians with  a tight panel on the day and Barrog got a good run of points to leave Finians trailing on the scoreboard. Good points  from Ciaran Groves, Tom Kennedy,  Tom Fahy kept Finians in the hunt but at the the final whistle Naomh Barrog led 2-19 to 1-15. Jack Dempsey, Conor Murnane and Minor players - Conor Laird, Tom Fahy and Tom Kennedy all made their adult hurling debuts
