The 2nd team playing Na Gaeil Oga,  fared better in the afternoon. Barry Kavanagh and Donie Redmond were scoring well from the wing forward positions with Ciaran Groves also influential in the forwards. A Donie Boyd goal saw St Finians head in at half time 1-11 to 0-4. In the 2nd half, more scores followed and the full back line of Kieran Murnane,  Daragh Callinan and Johnny O'Flaherty were in solid form at the other meaning that no goals were conceded. St Finians captained by Dave Kelleher were 1-23 to 0-6 winners at the final whistle.
