Thomas Ashe u14s travelled to Ballyboden on Tuesday evening. Weโre not sure if it was the coaches team talk before the game or the fact that Jim Gavin was on the opposition sideline that inspired the lads into action as we put up 2 goals and 4 points in the first 10 mins with Ballyboden only scoring one point. This forced the opposition into serious action as they brought the calvery on at this point (their A match was cancelled). Ballyboden pinged some nice points and a couple of goals before the ref decided to give them the first of their 5 penalties of the game. Yes five ๐. They put it wide๐. We went in a goal and point ahead and a player down (black card) at half time.
The second half continued in the same vein, it was end to end and very entertaining to watch. They scored 3 of the 5 penos but it wasn't that type of game. With 2 mins left they were 2 points up but the lads dug deep and scored 2 goals to run out worthy winners in the end. Great team performance ๐ ๐๐
