U8 Boys Return to play.
Hurling Sat 27th August:
On a beautiful summer's morning the boys from St Finians made their way to Marino to face the might of St Vincentβs and to Somerton in Castleknock. Everyone showed up with their game faces on and they brought that intensity onto the pitch.πͺπͺ
The lads showcased their hard work in training against the St Vincent's boys with a fantastic defensive and attacking performance.
Meanwhile in Castleknock, as temperatures rose at pitch side, the boys kept their cool and produced some excellent hurling. Correct striking technique was asked from the coaches and the boys responded with a great display of ground hurling. Striking, blocking and tackling were all to the fore against a strong Castleknock team. The boys played at full tilt from first to last whistle. All the coaches were proud of the display and the effort from all. ππ
Football Sat 3rd September:
A rain soaked Blakestown, home of St Peregrines, was the venue for one group of our Under 8 boys this morning. Our second group made their way to Balbriggan to meet O'Dwyers on the Bremore All Weather Pitch.
After an excellent training session on Thursday, the boys brought everything they worked on out onto the pitch at both venues. Soloing, blocks and clean pick-ups were the skills the coaches were looking for and the boys didn't disappoint. In slippery conditions all of them racked up their skills points along with plenty of goals along the way.
As always, a great team spirit shone through and no man was left behind as they battled through tough games against excellent opponents at both venues. A well deserved hot shower and a couple of hours on the couch was needed for the boys, parents and coaches!
Well done everyone and and thanks to all for braving the elements getting all the boys out!
Roll on this weekend's hurling action! πͺπͺπͺ
New players are always welcome to join our team, boys born in 2014.
