St Vincent’s vs St Finians – U13’s Hurling

Our U13 boys were on the road last Saturday in what looked like a tricky fixture versus St. Vincent’s.

We met St. Vincent’s in the grading earlier this year & had drawn the match at that time. Perhaps it was the wind, the use of the astro pitch or the use of smaller goals, but the match did not live up to its billing. Scores were at a premium & with 15 minutes to go, the match was tied at 0-2 to 0-2. Vincent’s were very impressive in their determined approach & it was anyone’s game to win in the final quarter. 💪💪

To our boys credit, they stuck to their task & found a way to pick up 2 goals & a point in the final 15 to pull away for the win. 👏👏

To put the boys achievements in context, our U13 hurlers were sitting approximately 55th – 60th in the county in early 2021. As of today, they currently sit 44th in the county at U13 level. Considering we have a panel of 25 hurlers whilst other larger clubs have in excess of 75+ to select from, this is an excellent achievement & the boys are continuing their upward trajectory to as high a possible league position as they can attain.
