Our U14 boys hosted Peregrines in Ridgewood on a wet and blustery Saturday afternoon in the Div 4 Cup hurling semi final.
Peregrines got off to a quick start scoring 1-1 in the first minute of the game. The lads didn't panic and slowly got back into the game with some well taken points and opportunistic goals. Both teams traded points throughout a hotly contested first half with neither team backing down from the challenge. Finians went in at half time 5 points up. 💪💪
The job was only half done but the lads had their eyes on the prize and began to exert their dominance early in the second half. They moved the ball quickly from defence to attack and rattled off a couple of quick goals. Our puck outs were accurate and defensively the lads were immense. Strong running in midfield allowed our forwards the freedom to score from different positions on the pitch. The lads stood up to the challenge and we have to admire their character and conviction after losing a quarter final the previous week. 👏👏👏
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the lads today, it helped drive them and is appreciated. Looking forward to the final in 2 weeks time 🤞🤞
