St Finians GAA, Camogie & LGFA club offer their deepest sympathies and condolences to the Green family on the untimely passing of Paddy Green.
Paddy was a founder member of St Finians in 1983 and served the club as a player on our first adult hurling and football teams. Paddy also coached a wide range of our juvenile and adult teams during his 40 years with the club, also supporting club teams and attending many club games. Paddy also served on our club executive committee for many years.
Paddy and his wife Ann and family have been fantastic club supporters since the foundation of the club.
Paddy’s children all played with St Finians and today many of his grandchildren continue to play with the club on various teams. Paddy was hugely respected both in the club and the community as a whole. Paddy was involved for many years with the Senior Citizens group in Swords helping to organise many events for Senior Citizens in the Swords area. Paddy was a true Crumlin man who never forgot his roots and a fervent Dublin supporter , and very proud when his eldest son Joe won a Junior All Ireland Championship final with Dublin in 2008.
Paddy was all what a club member should be , he gave his time selflessly to the club encouraging many kids within the club to play and enjoy sport , always looking to contribute and develop the club. His club loyalty, honesty and tireless work rate over 40 years for the club were an inspiration and example to us all.
Paddy is a massive loss to our club and community and his passing is deeply felt by all club members at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.
