Congratulations to the Adult Camogie team who had a very impressive win over a dogged Na Fianna team in their back yard on Tuesday night. This was the second win for the team, having beaten Kilmacud in late February. Unfortunately the bad weather in March meant the team were taking to the field without a game in nearly 6 weeks.

The first half produced some really memorable camogie with Ali Halpin buzzing everywhere with Aimee Timothy in midfield and Ellie Kane producing a maestro performance in half forward. Ali rattled the back of the net early on. While stalwart full forward Ellen Dunne popped in a second goal soon after. The team was in full flow now - Ellie Kane contributed 3 points, Ali Halpin added a point from a free and Aimee Timothy, Emily Jane Fallon and Katelyn O Hagan all contributed fine points of their own. Na Fianna were battling hard and playing well against a strong wind and contributed 2-2 themselves, in what was a pulsating first half. The half time score was Na Fianna 2-2, St Finians 3-7.

The breeze stiffened in the 2nd half and Na Fianna came back strong. Aoife Appleyard scored an impressive solo goal early on but defensively, the Finians ladies were under more pressure. Na Fianna upped their intensity in a huge physical battle that neither team shied away from. Liam O'Brien, referee, had his work cut out for him. He kept a good handle on the game and had to reach for his yellow cards on several occasions in the 2nd half as the intensity went right up. A top drawer save by Finians keeper Emma Cronin kept the distance between the sides, with Finians holding Na Fianna to just 4 points in the second half. Jules McDonald and EmilyJane Fallon rounded out the Finians scoring with points apiece.

Finian's ran out 2-6 to 4-9 winners in a pulsating game with great skill and flair shown on both sides. They now sit 2nd in the table having played one fewer games than the leaders. Next up is Lucan at home in Rivervalley on Tuesday 11th which will be a huge test for this evolving team.
