The Junior 3 camogie team produced another brilliant performance to make it a clean-sweep of the league in Rivervalley on Tuesday night. Against a determined Lucan team, this was a tense and hard fought battle. Lucan topped the league last year and had the second-meanest defence in the league coming into this match. They didn't travel across the city just to make up the numbers.

Lucan took an early lead before Rachel Fagan began the scoring for Finians, splitting the posts on the run. 3 points from frees for sharp-shooting captain Jules McDonald opened some daylight between the sides. Ellie Kane hit three from play before EmilyJane Fallon chipped one over. But Lucan finished the half stronger, hitting 3 on the bounce. The first half finished 0-8 to 0-4 with Lucan starting to control the midfield.

Early in the second half, Emily Kane and EmilyJane Fallon stretched Finian's lead to 6 before a resurgent Lucan brought the gap back to one point with a goal and 2 points with 10 minutes of the second half played. However, Finians dug deep and kept Lucan scoreless for the rest of the half. With 10 to go there was 3 between the sides but Finians were getting stronger and stronger. Superb scores from Ellie Kane, EmilyJane Fallon, Jules McDonald, and Ali Halpin kept the scoreboard ticking over. Lucan's goalkeeper kept them in the game, making at least 4 point blank saves during the game. However a kicked goal from U16 Eimear Crosbie put the icing on the cake and Finians ran out 1-17 to 1-6 winners on the night.

St Finians top the group, unbeaten in a tough league. Thanks to all our supporters and a special thanks to Ruby's who sponsor the team
