The senior Camogie team had a difficult assignment away to Cuala in the first round of their Junior2 Championship on Tuesday night. This was the teams first year in Junior 2 having taken the decision to move up a division after the impressive league campaign.

The long trip plus perhaps a bit of nerves meant we struggled in the first half even with the wind. Cuala were well organised and very skillful and cut the team open on many occasions - scoring 4 goals in the first half.

For a team that doesn't concede goals, this might have floored them but we turned the corner only 4 points down and felt with a few adjustments, we could make a match of it.

The second half, the true grit of the team showed and we outscored Cuala 1-7 to 0 - 4 despite playing into the wind. It was close all the way through but it finished 4-9  to 3-14 for a hard-fought 2 point win for St Finians.
